Third place for Imperiale Racing in the final round of the Italian GT championship
20.10.2019 – A third place for Imperiale Racing in the Italian GT championship with bad weather conditions.
In the final round of the Italian GT Championship, Imperiale Racing ended in third place. It was a bit of a disappointment, but nevertheless still a good performance.
This race depended on a head to head race against the Mercedes (#22) of Ricky Agostini and Alessio Rovera. After a few laps, before the pit window opened, Mul managed to overtake Agostini and take the lead during the exciting race. Imperiale Racing got in a comfortable position to enter the pit stop cycle. This gave Chico Postiglione the chance to take the lead in the race. After five seconds it started to rain, and the safety car neutralized the race.
After the safety car neutralized the race, Imperiale Racing was the only front runner to stay on slicks, while the others boxed for wets. This turned out to be a terrible decision as the rain kept pouring down. Mul was overtaken by the cars on wets and Imperiale Racing finished in third place.
The final round of Italian GT Championship was still a good performance for Mul in these weather conditions and a lesson for the next time is certain.
